Pin your most important questions
Rolling out in October 2026
The pin control is rolling out in October 2026. Until it reaches your account, the daily set is chosen for you: it is the questions you added first. The rest of this article describes how pinning works once it is on.
What pinning does
Every tracked question is checked weekly on every plan. Pinned questions are also checked every day: each engine on your plan is asked the question once, with its live web search on, and the answer is scored like any other. Pin the questions that matter most and you see their day-to-day movement without paying for a full daily run.
| Plan | Pinned questions checked daily |
|---|---|
| Starter | 3 |
| Pro | 10 |
| Agency | 25 |
| Enterprise | Every question (fair use) |
| Trial | 10, Pro's set, for the whole trial |
Daily checks of pinned questions never count against your on-demand re-checks.
What to pin
- The questions closest to a purchase: "best X for Y", "X vs Y", "who should I hire for X in {city}".
- The questions a competitor is winning, while you work on the sources the engines read for them (Get named: work the off-site plan).
- If you came from the free audit, the audit's question.
- For an agency, each client's priority questions, so the daily set and the scheduled client report speak to the same thing.
Topics are always checked weekly; only questions can be pinned.
Pinning and unpinning
You pin and unpin questions on the Questions page, up to your plan's number. Changing what is pinned does not delete anything: an unpinned question keeps its history and goes back to the weekly check. This article will be updated with the exact steps when the control ships.
Until then, the daily set is the earliest-added questions, up to your plan's number. To put a question in it today, add your most important questions first.
When daily checks pause
On a paid plan the daily checks pause after 14 days without anyone on the account signing in, and resume on the next visit; the weekly check never pauses. On the trial they run on days after you sign in. The Automation guide covers schedules and alerts.
Does pinning change the score?
Pinning does not count a question twice. The score uses each question's latest answers, so a pinned question's part of the score is simply more up to date. Read any daily move against the ± range, as with the weekly check: see What the ± on a score means.
