Opportunity reports

What an opportunity report is

The improvement plan gives you one ranked list of tasks across every question you track. An opportunity report goes the other way: it takes one tracked question and lays out everything AEOTrack knows about it on a single page.

For that question it shows what each engine answered, which brands were named and in what order, whether your site was cited, the pages the engines read to build their answers, and the specific changes that would get you named. It is the page to open when one question matters more than the rest: the one your sales team hears most, or the one a competitor keeps winning.

Where to find them

Open Improve → Opportunity reports in the sidebar (the address is /improve/opportunities). The page lists every tracked question for the website selected in the header, with a status beside each:

  • Generated on a date: a report exists. Open report opens it.
  • Not generated yet: nothing has been generated for this question. The row has a Generate report button.

Improve, then Opportunity reports: one row per tracked question, with the one generated report marked by its date.

You can also reach a report from the Questions page: open a question's drawer and click Open opportunity report. If the question has no report yet, the button generates one first.

Generate a report

  1. Open Improve → Opportunity reports.
  2. Find the question and click Generate report.
  3. Wait a moment. The report is written from the answers already stored for that question.
  4. The report opens full page when it is ready.

The top of a generated report: the biggest opportunity, why you are not mentioned, who wins today and why, and the sources to target, with Download PDF at the top. The page to build and the actions ranked by expected impact follow below.

A report is built from the answers stored at the time it is generated, so generate it after the check you want it to describe.

The credit rule

A report is generated once per question, and that is the only time it spends AI credits. Opening a report you already generated, coming back to it next week, printing it or downloading the PDF never spends credits again. The list shows which questions already have a report, so you can see before you click whether you are about to spend anything.

Download the PDF

Every report has a Download PDF button at the top. The PDF is the same page laid out for print: the question, the engine answers, the brands named, the sources and the recommended changes. Use it to hand a single question to a writer or an agency without giving them an AEOTrack seat.

For the whole website in one document, use the AI visibility report from the Reports page instead.

How to use one

  1. Start with the question the improvement plan ranks first, or the one the Share of voice page shows a competitor winning.
  2. Read the sources section: the pages the engines read that do not mention you are the target.
  3. Do the top recommended change, then wait for the next weekly check.
  4. Check the question's row on the Questions page after the check. The weekly results email tells you whether the move cleared the ± range.

Frequently asked questions

Does generating a report use an on-demand re-check? No. A report is written from stored answers. Only Check again on a question spends a re-check.

Can I generate a report for a question that has no answers yet? Not until its first check has finished. A newly added question is checked for free within a few minutes, and Generate works once the answers are in.

Does a report update on its own? No. It describes the answers stored when it was generated. The Questions page and the weekly results email carry the newer checks.

Can clients see it? The PDF can be sent to anyone. A client share link shows the dashboard, not the opportunity reports.
