Visibility Tracker

What is the Visibility Tracker?

The Visibility Tracker helps you answer a simple but crucial question: "Does AI mention your brand when people ask questions in your space?"

By tracking the questions buyers are likely to ask AI engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok), the Visibility Tracker monitors your brand's presence, sentiment, and sources over time. Every check asks each engine once, with its live web search on, and stores the full answer.

Core Features and Metrics

The definitions below are scoring version 10 (27 October 2026). The short version is in How the score works; the full formula, with a worked example and the version history, is on the public methodology page.

Under the score at the top of the page is the same sample line the Dashboard shows: the score with its ± band, how many answers and engines it covers, the date it is as of, and how many advice-only questions were left out. Each part links to the rows or the article behind it.

1. Questions Score

Your Questions score (shown as AI visibility on the Dashboard) is a 0 to 100 composite, not a percentage. Each engine's answer that names you scores 25 plus up to 75 for how you were named: how high in the answer's list (45%), whether the engine cited your own site as a source (30%), and the tone of the passage that names you (25%). An answer that does not name you but lists your own site as a source scores 22.5, the citation part alone, still below any answer that names you; an answer that does neither scores 0. A question's score is the engine-weighted mean of its latest answers (ChatGPT counts most). The website score is a recency-weighted mean of the question scores: a question's weight halves every 30 days and reaches zero at 90. A question where no engine names any business is advice-only and left out of the score; the count of such questions is shown beside it. A question that contains your brand is scored on its own, apart from the headline, not in it (why). Below three usable answers the score is withheld as "not enough data yet", and a score with no usable answer in the last 30 days is marked stale. Every score carries a ± range and its sample count; see What the ± on a score means.

2. Score (per question)

The Score column is that per-question composite from the latest check: for example, ChatGPT naming you at #2 with a citation and a warm tone, Gemini and Claude not naming you, gives a score in the twenties. A 0 reads "Not yet named" and says who was named instead; open the row for "How this score was built", one line per engine with its arithmetic. A row marked Advice-only · not in your score is a question no engine answered with any business; it is counted, not scored, until an engine names someone for it. The row has a Replace action: swap the question for one buyers ask by name, and the first check of the new question is free. If you came from the free audit, the audit's question is pinned to the top of the list during onboarding and labelled From your free audit. See Why AI does not name you yet.

3. Mentions & Sentiment

  • Mentions — The fraction of engines that named you in the latest check out of the engines that answered (e.g., 4/5 or 0/5). An answer cut off at the length cap is shown as inconclusive and does not count in the score, and a failed answer never counts as "not named".
  • Sentiment — A −100 to +100 rating of how the answer talks about you, rated by a model from the wording of the passage that names you. It is blank (not 0) when you are not named or the tone was not rated; a 0 means neutral wording.

4. Active Engines

The Engines column shows each engine's answer from the latest check: a green tick where it named you, greyed where it did not. When an engine's newest attempt failed, the column shows that engine's last good answer with its own date and a note that the newest attempt failed; the score uses that answer while it is less than 90 days old. An engine that has never answered the question shows an error mark and counts nowhere. An engine that is not configured on the platform shows as not measured, never as a 0. An answer that was cut off before it named anyone is not counted either. Hover a badge for the detail.

5. Citations and Competitors

  • Citation — How many source links the engines gave for this question, and how many of those were your own site. Being cited (your page used as a source) and being named are different events; the score's citation term only credits your own site among the sources.
  • Competitors — Which of your tracked competitors were named in these same answers (e.g., Harbor Beans). This is who the engines recommend when they are not recommending you.
