How can AEOTrack help you?

Answers about a different business with your name

Two businesses, one name

Two businesses can share a name: a local firm and a national brand, or two companies in different countries. Asked a question that fits the other one, the AI engines answer about it, and its name matches yours.

AEOTrack already keeps those answers out of your numbers. An answer whose only matching name is tied to another company's website (it cites, links or writes that company's address, and never yours) is not counted as naming you. A more specific name of yours in the same answer still counts. So a namesake never raises your score; see How the score works.

What it can still do is waste your questions. If many answers are about the other business, your questions are probably written for it, or are general enough that the engines pick the better-known one.

"Not you?"

When at least two of your answers tie your name to the same other company's website, the Dashboard says so in its Check your setup section, under the label Not you?:

These answers are about a different Acme Coffee (acme-coffee.example). Is this you?

Up to three of those answers are behind See 3 of the answers (See 2 of the answers when there are two), each with the engine, the date, the question and what it says about that company, so you can see who it is. A namesake on another website gets a card of its own.

  • Confirm who you are opens the business confirmation, filled in with what AEOTrack knows: the name, whether you sell a service, a product or both, the category, the location and the country. Correct anything and confirm (Yes, that's us, or Save who we are once you edit it). From then on, new question and competitor suggestions are written for the business you confirm; your current questions stay as they are until you replace them with the next button. A confirmed name that is not one of your brand names yet is added as one. Once you have confirmed, this button goes. See Confirm your business.
  • Suggest questions about your business writes a new set of questions for your business and shows it to you first: the proposed questions, each with a box to tick, and, when you have questions of your own, "The questions you wrote yourself are kept as they are." Nothing changes until you choose the questions to use (Use these questions). Only questions AEOTrack suggested are replaced; questions you added after setup stay, and a replaced question keeps its history. You can ask for six previews an hour.
  • Dismiss hides the card. It comes back only if twice as many answers are about that company (and at least three more).

The card never changes anything on its own and never emails you.

If that website is yours too

If the other website is also yours, such as an older domain or a regional site, the answers are about you. Write to support@aeotrack.io with both addresses and we will look at it with you. If the answers use a name of yours that AEOTrack does not count yet, see Brand names and "Is this you?".
