Set your country

Rolling out in October 2026

The country setting is rolling out in October 2026. This article describes how it works once it reaches your account.

Why the country matters

Ask "best accountant for a small business" in Manchester and in Melbourne and you should get different firms. Engines that search the web live can take the asker's location into account, and Google AI Mode reads a country's own Google results. If AEOTrack asked every question from one place, a local business could see national or foreign brands named instead of the rivals it actually competes with.

With the setting on, AEOTrack asks your questions from your company's country:

  • Google AI Mode answers are read from that country's Google results.
  • Location-aware engines are asked with that country as the user's location.
  • Engines that do not take a location answer the same way as before.

Where to set it

The country belongs to your company, so every website in the workspace uses it. You set it in your company settings; this article will be updated with the exact steps when the setting ships.

Agencies whose clients are in different countries: the setting is per company for now. Tell us at support@aeotrack.io if that gets in your way, so we know how much a per-website setting is needed.

What changes when you set it

  • The next check asks from the new country. Earlier answers stay as they were, so the trend can step at that point. Compare checks on the same side of the change.
  • Your questions are asked in the words you wrote them, whatever the country. Write them the way your buyers would.
  • Competitors named instead of you may change to more local ones. That is the point: they are the brands your buyers see.
